To scroll this help press up or down. Press select when done.

4 Left, 6 Right - aim the cue stick, using either the directional keypad or the number keys.

5 Select - hold down to draw back cue and shoot. The longer you hold down the more powerful the shot. Other keys: space, Enter, click. If using a stylus then tap to aim, tap and hold to shoot.

To apply spin to the cue ball press left, right, up, or down while drawing back the cue. Down can also cause a jump.

2 Up - switch to break view. If already in break view then aim at next higher numbered ball.

8 Down - switch to cue aligned aiming view. If cue is already aligned then aim at next lower numbered ball.

Secondary game controls:

0 Menu - brings up menu during game.  Other keys: Back, right button. 

1 In, 7 Out - zoom in and out. Other keys: +, -.

3 Raise, 9 Lower - tilt view. Other keys: u, d.

* Hand - take ball in hand, permitted on break or after a scratch. The cue ball blinks and direction keys move it. Press select when done. In Practice mode you can take ball in hand at any time, and move the cue ball anywhere on the table.

MAIN MENU

Move menu highlight with up and down, select to activate.

New Game - start a new game.

Resume - resume game from last exit or current game if a new one has been started.

Sound - toggle sound on or off.

Unlock - buy a key using the PIN displayed and enter the key here to unlock full version of the game. If the key works then the Unlock menu entry will no longer be present.

Exit - stop the game. The current game is saved.

NEW GAME MENU

Straight Pool - hit balls into pockets, one point per ball. If you sink a ball you get to shoot again. If you sink the cue ball then no points are awarded and your turn is over. First player to sink 8 or more balls wins.

8 Ball - player is assigned stripes or solids based on first ball sunk after the break. The score on the left shows your type, stripes or solids, and the number of balls of that type that have been sunk. Sink all balls of your type and then the 8 ball last to win the game.

Practice - single player practice mode.

Opponent - brings up Opponent Menu.

Back - return to main menu.

OPPONENT MENU

Select opponent based on the amount of money you can afford to lose.

Visible - select Off if you do not want to show opponent's reactions during the game.

PLAY

When it is your turn the cue is pointed in the general direction of what may be a good shot. Use the left and right keys to improve the shot. Press 2 - Up to aim at another ball.

If the cue ball is sunk a scratch occurs. Play passes to the next player. The cue ball is positioned at the near end of the table and blinks. Direction keys move the ball. Press select to shoot. Press * to move it some more. The ball can also be moved by pressing * during the first shot, the break.
